Middle age women moving to Bay Area????!!!!!!
Just applied to a job out here in the Seattle area but seeing mixed things said about it. Also, is their campus over in Kirkland?
It’s even more brutal in non-engineering roles. For marketing, you would do yourself a favor looking elsewhere
don’t come here. it’s a shit show
It’s not the right time. The attrition rate in the last few weeks is pretty bad with people just quitting without notice. My manager told me today they are putting in their notice. Pretty sure they were top performer and one of the few good ones.
We’re exhausted. We announced publicly that we’re a remote first company last year and then this year it’s forced RTO. 3 rounds of layoffs, but then laying people off and bringing them back. Our money team was told to prioritise debit cards and then we go out and buy a credit card company because Vlad likes the look of the physical card. 3 failed intentional expansion attempts. I get that many companies can be a shit show, but Robinhood simply makes it impossible to just show up and do your job. If I woke up tomorrow and heard that Robinhood was opening a chain of coffee shops, it wouldn’t surprise me!
They just leased an office in Bellevue and they just laid off a ton of engineers this year. 9% of the company were let go a couple months ago. On top of that, I saw my peers silently disappearing for months. They are doing silent firing due to “performance” but in reality it’s for budget purposes. Are you sure you really want to work there? There are folks who joined for 3 months and now without a job…
Well it’s a marketing gig and I just applied over the weekend so hadn’t done as much research as I probably should have. Took a pay cut to stay at Tmo cause I really how soft the job market is there. Appreciate the insight
FYI also, they hire for the top 1% meaning that their bar is super high. They also don’t pay top 1% so you are probably better off somewhere else. Sure you might pass and get in (with a stroke of luck, even though 99% of folks now don’t get offers), but even if you do so, you will be worried about your job for the next year. You will see other engineers around you slowly disappearing without really knowing why…
