Skyrocketing inflation and terrible labor shortage. And yet, still pushing for tax hikes on household income > 400k.
TC or GTFO
Let’s go Brandon
can someone explain this republican meme to me I too lazy to google
Shoulda not vote for the senile puppet
Man, if you're a bit younger, get used to it. Software engineers (and doctors, lawyers, pharmacists, etc) always get screwed when taxes change. You can't really screw with the poor and "middle class" too much because, well, you don't want to risk a riot. You can't really screw with the people at the top because they're too powerful. So the relatively wealthy class like software engineers end up picking up the tab.
Pharmacists make 🥜
Middle class (what’s left of it) starts around 350k these days. Upper class doesn’t earn “income.”
I guess this will bring house prices down in Bay Area
A 2% tax increase on people above $400k is hardly going to have an impact on a labor shortage
Latest rumor is no 25% cap gain rate, no removal of cost basis step up, or even the undoing of Trump tax cut. Instead, more irs clout to find existing cheaters, remove some trust/estate tax avoidance benefits, and this new unrecognized cap gain tax on literally a few hundred billionaires All in all this is good news for those who were worried about paying more taxes compared with the earlier talk The main issue I'd say is that for the most expensive benefits in the bill, they will only fund 1-2 years of benefits against 10 years worth of these taxes. So clearly these taxes are not sustainable for even the scaled back benefits in this bill, let alone all the programs removed completely from it. So most likely it's all we'll see for awhile, and this is setting the stage for discussion at the next two elections. eg Rs want to cut $$ for children because they don't want to keep funding for these, Ds want an invasive wealth tax eventually that failed elsewhere going to everybody
Well we know who is a single-issue voter
Well, when it’s your money, it’s a pretty big issue.
I understand the desire for simplification, but climate, Covid, many social issues are important. Pocketbook single-issue voters here in Blind are basically just driven by greed.
