My friends at VISA, how does the yearly bonus look like? Is it true that yearly bonus can be more than 100% of your base? Do you also get annual refreshers with that? YOE: 11 TC: 270k Location : Austin, Tx
No way you can get 270k in Austin at Visa without being a Sr Director and above. This is the high range salary for Sr Director in Austin btw. It will take you 4 to 10 years to get promoted to VP.

Yes you should. It is easy to guess the level based on title. Are you an IC or manager? For IC Chief Engineer is equivalent to Sr Director. Base is around 170k to 200k.Bonus 20% to 25% .Refresher is not guaranteed but at Sr Director level you should be able to get it unless you messed up. Refresher is around 25% of base over 3 years. At Visa, you also need to know that if you are at the top of the band, there will be very little increment (1% to 3%) unless you are getting promoted.

So I was a Sr software engineer and my bonus target was about 8 percent with a multiplier of 2x so it went upto 16% of base. I received outstanding performance in my reviews so received about 15 k in refresher.
