Hi. I’m interviewing for HRT and I had a question on the TC. I am going to interview as a SWE with 4 YOE. I was trying to do some research on expected salary and I noticed that their bonuses have a vesting schedule. Can someone explain how that works? Also what would be my ball park total TC like 400-500k? I mean if the vesting schedule is unfavorable the TC doesn’t look all that impressive imo. Thanks

They give cash every quarter. Base salary is basically constant upwards to 240k The rest is quarterly bonus. Jan to march bonus will be paid out on end of april, april to june will be paid out in end of july etc. They also have a deferred bonus system which means you’re not getting the 100% of the bonus but eventually you’ll get it in full in 2 years. For instance: lets say your quarterly bonus is 50k. Then they will give you 30k (there is a limit on each employee) right now and then the rest of the 20k will be given to you 1/8 th every quarter. Essentially you’ll get 30k + 20k/8 on that quarter and the rest will be given out for 2 years. Difference between vested stock is that even if you leave the company, they will give you this trailing bonuses since its your money
Is the deferred comp put into a fund that gets invested and potentially grows or is it just the fixed amount?

What does it take to get an offer at HRT for Algo Eng? What resources did you use to prep, which classes did you take, etc?

They will pay you what they think you’re worth. The sky is the limit with that firm
