The job posting said it was for remote work. I made it clear in the initial screening that I am not willing to relocate. 4 weeks later, they say they want to give me an offer, but I have to be willing to relocate. They can ask the CTO to make an exception, but it's not guaranteed. Why would I ever take an offer from a company that lied to me throughout the interview process? Update: I got a call out of nowhere from the recruiter and she referred me to a team in a different org where they already have remote workers. That team is going to get approval for another remote spot and then interview me. They are going straight to the "on site" and wanted to know if I'm interested before starting the process. That's really nice!
Now your turn to waste their time by accepting the offer and ditching them later 😂
This 😂
I like this plan
Man, years ago I had an interview with Zillow for a remote role and I took time off to prepare and they canceled the interview 5 minutes before it started because they decided not to pursue remote roles. I would be livid if that shit happened after the interview.
I am about to talk to the Hiring manager and interview at Zillow for a remote role. Makes me nervous.
I wouldn’t be. This was a long time ago and COVID changed everything. I expect it will be without issue.
Things have been changing for remote work pretty rapidly around here. Wouldn't surprise me if it were some sort of Disney change during your interview process.
I decided to wait a year and see how Disney really handles remote work post-pandemic. I worked in Disney interactive years ago and they were terrible about remote work. My family got sick and they wouldn't let me work from home for just one day.
Other than their way out of date remote policies, it was a great company to work for. I'd go back in a heartbeat if they didn't make me move to a coast.
Provide feedback to the manager and recruiter. Sounds like Hulu dropped the ball here. Sounds very unprofessional
You are dealing with Disney, not hulu. Hulu’s CTO already let go by Disney unofficially

That’s a bummer and pretty bad on Hulu’s part. Not sure I would apply there after seeing this.
Don’t, not a good time
