My husband got laid off from collective health this morning. We were planning to move to texas this summer and now we are out of options. Not that it matters. We are US Citizens and visa is not an issue. #severance #layoff #jobopening opening#
Well at least you still have (presumably) a good job. Why worry? It’ll be fine. You’ll bounce back.
Sorry to hear about your husband’s job! There are few contractual jobs available in Texas, please reach out to any consultancy!!
Thank you! He is in talent acquisition
Rough
Why are you out of options? Keep your chin up— wishing you both the best, hopefully he’ll find a job soon
Thank you!
Please share any referrals or openings in talent acquisition.
Please connect with more people on LinkedIn. It might take more time so patience is key but both need to be active on LinkedIn or other networks.
Thank you!
What was his severance? Hope he got covered for few months. Good luck
How is the lay off blocking you from moving to Texas?
We can’t move cause he doesn’t have a job. It will impact our finances if we decide to move. Lot of uncertainty in the air.
Moving is expensive in of itself. If you’re worried about finances it’s important to weigh the options
Temporary setback, options will materialize.
This is not meant to gloat or to lay blame, so please don’t take it the wrong way. But I am genuinely interested in understanding why or why not have folks prepared financially for a scenario like this… again, sorry if I offended anyone.
Please don’t assume that we don’t have reserve. It’s natural that one will look for another job when they lose one.
Life happens. I had solid 6 months of reserve till few months ago. unexpected losses happened and we had to spend. By god's grace I still have job. Working on to build reserve again.
What part of Texas?
Dallas Fort Worth area.
See you guys in July-2023
As long as he gets a severance he should be okay
I’ve been laid off without severance and I was still ok. I had a family to feed and a mortgage and bills to pay. The feeling was awful, my pride was hurt, my lifestyle was cut a lot but we were stronger for it. Money, jobs, status, items, credit scores are all replaceable. Hang in there. This too shall pass.
