Hello there. I currently work in healthcare Medicaid consulting as a senior analyst. My skills predominantly lie in advanced Excel modeling and SQL. I will be receiving SAS training pretty soon. I want to make a lateral move into possibly a tech company as a financial analyst. 1. What technical skills should I learn? Off the top of my head I expected python and R. 2. For someone with an undergrad in Finance and 2 years of work experience, how much would a company like Amazon pay for a financial analyst role in the Greater Phoenix Metro area? Thanks! Current comp - is ~$66k
Not what you're asking for, but I moved into data science from a financial analyst role. Rolling up into the technical teams simply pays better than being in the finance/acct department. SQL gets you part way there, Python or R (probably Python) is the other big tool. Datacamp and codewars.com are where I started.
Also you might look into AWS certification, shouldn't take long and you'll be able to say you understand some technical crap
For finance, I would say Tableau / Looker / PowerBI for visualization. Those are easier to learn than python and much more common asks in job descriptions.

Find product experience, skill is secondary. But yeah SQL and python.
