I liked reading their culture memo, actually read it 3-4 times for interviews. But I always wondered if they really follow the memo in the company. Nevertheless, there are really good things to take from the memo.
The memo is good. But so far their shows and movies have been shitty this year.
🤣 that's a different story. Hopefully their subscribers keeps on growing so that I don't lose money in the their stock.
@234abb - with the real comment! Netflix shows have really sucked this year! HBO has been killing it
Netflix is attempting a shot at Gaming. Hopefully that works and helps the stock go up
Shooters without shooting and only white guys playing for terrorists? That will work! :D
lol .. Netflix is really overhyped. You want top talent in entertainment, they’re in Amazon.
Talent @ Amazon
Top talent in Amazon? 😂
Will start reading “No filter” next week about Instagram. Let us see what we get to know about it. And one person has asked about if the book on Netflix talks about firing policy. Yes it does and explains why they do it. Even after reading their explanation I felt that working there is scary. However as per the books the percentage of people they fire is less than the industry average
No rules rulebook simply means each team create their own rules by following a certain precedent. As a result you actually get stricter rules. Example: you can have unlimited vacations but most people in each team ends up taking < 10 leaves a year, so you end up doing the same. Also no rules rulebook means rules can be created on the go (by inventing new criteria) and can be used against someone if needed.
Isn’t it scary because you will always worry about losing your job. I want to know from the employees how do they feel about the company with all these no rules rule thing
Reed took 6 weeks per year and encourage every employee to do so. It's all about setting up good examples
