Hey everyone, I'd really appreciate some help here. I am in a very bad state of mind and so sad about what's going on with everyone. I think I'm next on the death row. I got locked out of all my Meta accounts. no access to email/intern/etc. I got contacted by a company lawyer and investigator, stating that I "have potentially" violated company policies. They want to meet with me to "hear my side of the story" but I know it's B.S. and I will be fired anyways. I am even considering not meeting with them, as I know the result will be the same. I have a new born twins and I am afraid they won't even offer any severance or some healthcare coverage until I find something else (especially in this market). What do you think? Will I at least be offered some severance to use for our expenses in the next couple of months? Please no trolling, no one knows how depressed and sad I am #severance #layoff #meta P.S: Do they offer severance when firing employees for "company policy violation"? I am using normal internal tools for my everyday work, if they don't want us to use a tool, have it file a task for review instead of auto approving it, then hunting employees when they're trying to do their job.
Meet and talk to them. Who knows if they believe you and won't fire you
bad idea. they’re literally just in collecting evidence mode and want him to incriminate himself
What do they think you did
What did you do? You always have COBRA for health insurance. Probably get a lawyer of your own, and meet theirs.
If you’re truly from meta, whys your company say new? I sniff a troll / attention seeker right hyahhhh 🧐
He says he's locked out, maybe didn't have Blind previously?
Because they were locked out of their email.
Um a lawyer and investigator is not normal course of operations for layoffs. This may mean you will be fired with cause. Consider what you did and how you will respond.
Question is: what did you do?
What do they think you did? That may help determine if you’ll get severance or not.
How much one has to pay for COBRA for a family of two kids
It depends on coverage. At Amazon it's $700/mo/person. If you healthcare is better than ours, you'll be paying even more. We only get 18 massages per year at 90% discount on our plan. How much do you get?
Generally 103% of whatever coverage you choose.
Did they mention what policy you violated? From what I have heard (may be this depends on case by case basis) there will be no severance in such cases. Again, depends on the case.
I'd be screwed, our savings have dried up (some personal issues).
