Hi Blinders, I’m struggling to be productive every day, I try to manage my time and have a clearly defined todo list and I nail it but I’m struggling to keep productive more than 1-2 days in a row. I wonder if you have the same issue, what are the obstacles preventing you from having a very productive day everyday? Also, any solution or suggestions will be great. Thanks for the help #work #remote #remotework #wfh #hybrid
Coming to blind for help with productivity - your first mistake
Why do you think so?
Make your own story/philosophy where you can focus : For example: have following daily affirmation. You can make your own and live your life around it. 1) Show up everyday 2) Focus on inputs 3) Give 100% energy on your input
Great question! It’s nice to know your short comings and be able to accept it. Knowing and accepting is the first phase. My distractions: 1) WFH, I tend to snack every now and then + feel sleepy coz I sleep late at night 2) Given the flexibility to work at your ease and pace, I procrastinate How am I overcoming it: 1) set fixed daily goals - I try to follow it! 2) some times I give shorter timeline, which makes me accountable to deliver in a short duration (which kinda helps built a habit to not procrastinate) Do share what does and doesn’t work you, good luck!
Put everything in your calendar (including lunch, exercise/walk, breaks) and practice the discipline of sticking to it. Also realize that it’s ok to hit slumps these days, as shown in your poll. Feel it, then buck up and push towards your goals. Good luck.
No one's talked about this yet: make sure you're taking time to disconnect. When we moved to remote work we removed our commute, trips to the coffee shops, lunch with coworkers, etc. The "variety" that was built into our day is no longer there. Make sure to take time away from your desk and your workspace every day. This way you come back refreshed and ready to take on the day
Go to a doctor and get a prescription for adderall and you will be productive
Not necessarily. Adderall doesn’t make you stop procrastinating…
Is this a new struggle? Take a vacation. You’re burning out. Has this been a wfh struggle? Find a new work location. You’re too distracted. Has this been a life long struggle? See a psychiatrist. You may have any number of mental health conditions.
Prioritize rigorously, learn to say no.
