It's been a few years since I had leetcoded, and last time i only had to do like 30 easy ones and they were enough to get into Cisco. So you could say that I'm a noob and never really done much preparations in the past. Obviously it's a complete different situation this time and I want to start preparing for interviews in case I get laid off b4 earnings but not exactly sure whether I'm on the right track. I plan to: 1. Update my resume 2. Do around 100 easy/medium leetcodes 3. Learn react (I'm a backend dev and only done static htmls with bootstrap) Do you recommend anything else? I appreciate all feedbacks. I wish blind would let me give real $ to all of your constructive feedbacks just like how you can gift $ in YouTube. Thx all TC 160

What if OP is an Indian?
Modi loves Trump. Trump loves Modi.
Is 160 your TC or the base? 100 isn’t enough. Skip the easy. Buy premium and do tagged questions. Give up react and learn system design.
160 is my TC. My base is 130, 10 bonus, and like 10 RSU. There's espp but it's peanuts
The reason why I'm learning some front end is because sometimes companies ask you to do take home interviews like built a simple version of Dropbox. Do you still recommend at least learning some react or ..?
why not just chill?
Do you want to continue your career progression in backend? If so, I feel like #3 is a waste of time. Putting time on learning frontend is going to make you a jack of all trades but a master of none. You're better off investing time learning more backend imo.
I do want to progress further into backend. I'm just learning a bit of frontend cuz sometimes, take home interview requires you to build smth like a simple version of YouTube, Dropbox, etc
I have never experienced such rigorous take home assignments.
Something I didn’t see mentioned is start saving an emergency fund. If you don’t have one, start one. Reign in your expenses. It’s much better being laid off when you have an emergency fund + severance/unemployment to cushion your job search. Myself I have a years worth of expenses where I don’t have change my lifestyle at all. I’m also laddering T bills with this fund every 3 months, so I don’t lose much money having it sit in a liquid account. I live in mass so for unemployment I’d get $1k a week. This means I can probably stretch my savings to two years, which is a great mental burden lifted from me. It might seem hard at first but even having a single month of expenses saved can definitely help you out mentally. Outside of that I wouldn’t focus too hard on study materials until you do become laid off. No need to add stress in your life until it happens.
YoE ? And level according to faang syntax (L3/L4, etc)?
6 yoe Cisco lvls are g6 (new grad) g8 (intermediate) g10 (senior) and g11 or above are managers/staff. I'm a g10 but since Cisco pays peanuts, my TC is less than a L3 faang
