I don't want to do the offer eval as there is no comparison to my offers, just wanted to know if my decision makes sense. Current TC ~280K YOE - 6.5 years 1. Affirm Base : 215K Sign on Bonus : 30K Equity : 250K for 4 years Yearly bonus : 0 2. Upstart (Software Engineer 2) Base : 180K Sign on Bonus : 20K Equity : 300K for 4 years Yearly bonus : 15% 3. Other offers seem to be lowballed, I didn't even think of negotiating with them with my FB offer. Is this a good decision? #softwareengineer #offer #swe #facebook #netflix #upstart #affirm
Netflix?
Maybe
How is your TC so low with the 10x growth of TSLA over the past 2 years?
I joined last year when tesla stock was already up and I think they lowballed me that time.
congrats
why pull out of NFLX btw?
They were taking time for giving the offer and I thought FB offer is pretty close.
FB offer is good for one year, so what’s the hurry?
Did Facebook give you the max E5 offer right off the bat? If not, how did you negotiate since you don’t have higher offers?
I think waiting for nflx offer did the trick.
I think so, everyone know Netflix offer would be >400k for my level.
Is scribd 10k for 4 years that is 2.5k for every year ? Any typo there?
Lol, I asked the same question if it is 10K per year or four years. Thought I would tell recruiter that I can afford to buy that much quantity by myself. I had FB offer by then so didn't even try to negotiate.
Are you sure it’s not the number of options?
That’s a great FB offer, now go find the right team
Oh yes, 1 month chill and then team hunting.
Feel free to reach out if you’re looking for a team with good WLB, when does Bootcamp start for you?
Any interview prepare tips and timeline?
Nov Dec was serious LC, solved almost 300+ problems (top 100, high frequency FAMG). Jan I spent for system design, February for recruiter calls and revise and later gave 25 phone screens and got 15 on-sites which I gave in the month of March. FB needs speed and problem solving skills, other companies need working solution for coding rounds.
15 on-sites in one month sounds intense. I am guessing most were half day rather than full day onsites. Maybe Netflix was a full day. For me FB was about 4 45 minute interviews + lunch (right before covid) so i can't imagine that one took a full day. Did you manage to mask your onsite interviews from just doing them while WFH or did you take a lot of PTO?
Did you negotiate the FB at least without the other offers? You always negotiate! Always.
He got the max E5 offer.
True, I don't think I had a room to negotiate and other offers to support.

Netflix would have paid higher I believe
Maybe but I thought it doesn't make sense to face Netflix culture for few thousand $.
If you are a really good engineer (which I think you are), you would have liked Netflix culture more than FB culture.
