What do vegetarian Indians eat for protein?
and we just adopted a 1.5 years old husky mix dog (already spayed). During meet and greet session the 2 dogs were nice to each other and they were not afraid of each other either. Note that both these dogs are girls and are spayed. But after getting the husky home, the husky tries to hump my golden retriever any chance she gets. And if my golden retriever retaliates then the husky retaliates back with stronger bark and then my golden retriever gets scared. How should I handle this situation? Update 1: 2 days in and after a lot of training. She is doing better now. We have started to understand each others’ body language. My Golden has also started to understand the husky language better. They are still miles to go but it’s a good start.
Likely husky is doing that as a sign of dominance. Might need some training to prevent aggressive behavior but your husky will likely be the dominant dog of the two.
Slight dominance makes sense but this is straightforward bullying.. I don’t want to but I think I may need to return the husky to adoption center if training does not work over the next week..
Give it some time. Dogs always have a pecking order and as long as they are not aggressive towards each other, it should ok. Good luck!
You should know your retriever probably resents you right now. How would you feel if your parents brought home your bully and didn't do anything when they saw you being bullied. Not all dogs have a 'heirarchy' - especially when it's just 2.
I mean who said I did nothing. But anyways thanks for the help 🙏🏼
That’s not norma.. oh wait, its husky. Very normal
Applaud you for adopting and not going with a breeder! Recommend you work with a trainer. Agree with the earlier post things take time and there’s an adjustment period, and a trainer can help make sure your doing the right things. It’s also important your dogs see you as the dominant one/ in charge.
Start humping the husky, the next time she humps the golden retriever. Show her who the top dog in your household is.
🤣🤣
Huskies are challenging dogs. If you don’t have the time to train her, you probably are better off returning her. Otherwise it will take a lot of training and work for you to establish yourself as the pack leader
She’s just being a bittch!
