For whatever reason I have never successfully referred anyone into my current company. I think the recruiters do indeed profit from my network (I remember they did a sketchy thing where they asked you to name your friends a while ago) but I never got any referral fee from it. Dumb dumbs in my network just get rejected during interview. Smarty pants friends don’t want to work here even if they get the offer. Has it happened to you?
Because they don't work on anything important. Just silly things with good monetization potential.
Yea, a lot of ppl are older so they don’t really think Snapchat is an important app. I’m a believer but I get it.
Why are you a believer? Asking because I am evaluating an offer.
Why won’t smart ones want to work here? Unless they’re smart enough to start their own, there’re very few companies that are Snap level.
Do people still use Snapchat? I'm honestly curious
Yea
I've gotten 8 people offers 6 accepted in 6 months of doing referrals
That’s insane
Did you do a strategy for this e.g. posting to LinkedIn, training people for interview or anything like this? Did you have approach or just refer friends who asked?
I think maybe because Snap is really a niche product that they hold a really high bar for relevant experience? Referring people at my company is kinda hard too because they want people who have worked on products with huge user bases or relevant AR/VR experience from a big company. We’ll get these ref bonuses one day
shame on you
I referred lots of people and got 2 bonuses so far.
