Because I don't want to use Uber. The lyft app is quite nice, why do people hate on lyft?
Wish Lyft would just add tips automatically instead of asking every time. Paying people fairly is the company's job not the consumer's
a tip on Lyft is actually for above and beyond service. automatically adding it defeats the purpose .
prompting for a tip creates the expectation that one is required. tipping culture is bullshit. really appreciate uber's stance on this.
No problems with Lyft but they need to start accepting Bay Area commuter cards!
We've launched it in a few cities, but not SF yet. The problem is that the vehicle has to have a certain number of seats (5 or 6?) to be eligible for commuter benefits. There aren't enough of them to go around, so it ends up driving up ETAs.
If I'm not mistaken, we've launched in sf as well (try adding wageworks as a card). As kzCm10 pointed out, there aren't enough high capacity vehicles to make a ride eligible every time. High occupancy is actually 7 passengers I think.
Lyft and Uber seem basically the same
That means we win. Sick.
No one hates on them they are just more expensive. If prices were equal Uber would be out business after their money dries out.
Are you talking about regular just compared to uberx, or line vs. Pool?
Why would prices be equal when one has more scale and stronger operational efficiency? Lyft is sliding down the curve.
Lyft app is not that great, once in SFO airport, I booked a cab, the spinning wheel was spinning for more than 20 mins, meanwhile I took Uber. then Lyft charged me a cancellation fee.
My experience was quite the opposite. Lyft very smooth, uber not so much.
they both use queues of cars from the cell phone lots now so the wait will be about the same
I had a horrific experience with a driver. Lyft refused to reimburse me for the ride. I kept contacting them for a month and they won't respond. Have to dispute with PayPal to get my money back. Deleted the app right after.
I'm very surprised to hear you didn't even get a response. Our customer support works on a philosophy of always making things right for passengers and drivers. What method have you used to try to contact support?
I'm calling shenanigans, Lyft support has been solid.
OP, great post. Digging this Lyft response on this thread. Shows a lot of character. Completely different from Uber people here. I'm a fan
Are you reading the same thread?
Dark helmet's replies to every single comment also show a lot of character. The kind Uber is famous for.
I haven't really experienced people hating on Lyft. Friends are just so focused on price and convenience that the second place options isn't really a thing. It's a commodity and Lyft is busy petting its mustache and acting like it's special when it is really just nothing but a flat round raising loser. Gg
OP and his post is everything that sums up why everyone hates uber
Oh come on there are plenty more reasons
At this point, in many markets, the only argument Uber can use is price which they can artificially temporarily manipulate by dumping VC dollars to acquire non-loyal riders. But investors will only tolerate that for so long. Lyft has a loyal loving user base, we are not going away. Investor tolerance to wasting dollars, however, is bounded.
Speaking of dumping VC dollars
still better than $2.99 rides from Uber

Why are Muslims nations not accepting Palestine 🇵🇸 refugees?
They say it's significantly more expensive. I'm okay with that.
cheaper or equivalent for me on all my rides
Ditto.
