I just want to go home. Anybody else?
In my late 20s. I do an OK job, nothing great. OK TC, about 130K in low to medium COL. Didn't go to a great college. Didn't really achieve anything worthwhile in life. All alone here in the US. Parents in India. Have about $300K in savings. I just think what's the point from a few months. It's not like I'm in a great position career wise in the US. Everyone goes gaga over US national parks. I don't do hiking or any such activity. People talk about pollution free air in the US but I don't really mind the pollution in India. I just want to go home to India, stay with parents, never work again for a day in my life. My parents are not financially dependent on me. What's the point of again getting a career in India if I'm not doing great here in the first place? I haven't done anything great for that matter. I know no girl will touch me with a 10-foot pole if I'm unemployed so won't have a family anyway. I'll just put my $300K into an index fund and chill. Anyone else thinks the same? I don't know if this is depression or burnout or something else but I have this overwhelming feeling of wanting to go home. Anyone else? #burnout #depression #mentalhealth
I have realised that its far easier to build a great life here in India with your parents, friends, relatives all around. It's all about priorities and what makes you happy. You can get a well paying job (60LPA) here in India as a dev with a good wlb. You can take that and build life rather than building in vaccum too far away from what feels like home to you

Same exact boat. Bay Area is going to hell and I miss being in Taiwan with family and living a peaceful life instead of this rat race, increasing crime, and growing inequality. 23 w/ $200k nw and really just wanna say f it and move back. Life is too short to be miserable
Yep, it feels like you are facing burnout. Take a break for few weeks, rethink again, still it you have same thought you can consider moving back to India. There are tons of companies here.You shouldn't be measuring your life with someone else's yardstick. If you feel you will be at peace in India, then India it is. Period.
