I am working with Intel in R&D customer support and Intel guys are putting all work on us. I am a R&D HW engineer and they are asking us to complete the design for them in tight schedule, which is like 4 person work on every guy here. Manager is non responsive to concern. All people still left in Intel are there just not to work and coast to better opportunity. I dont see technical expertise or even intent. Thats why Intel is doomed to fail. I hope you guys become next DEC/IBM😂
Intel==delay, delay, delay, lame/no new products, non-sense/non-technical leaderships, low pay, bad culture, average talents, aged work force, inability to attract and retain young talents, no noticeable progress over the years, same story over over again, etc.
Managers want to blame shit on others and make life miserable for guys working for them. Intel guys are not working and we have to pick up the slack for them.
I understand your frustration, but what's the deal with "aged workforce" and "young talent" ? Your post reeks of ageism bro.
Synopsys, as the age old saying goes.. customer is always right. 🙃 Also tight schedule means finally intel is realizing that monopoly days are over.
The problem is their people does not want to work on tight schedules. They got by with little work but now only bad apples are left. All good people moved to greener pastures and we are left with fixing their shit. When shit hits the fan, its easy to blame others and survive themselves. The way Synopsys is selling tools is absolutely atrocious, they are providing free labor for customer to suck blood out of on top their tools. Almost like a pimp.
Their “people” do work on tight schedules, they ALWAYS underestimate the proper time needed and ALWAYS fail to deliver.
I have worked with your AEs here and at previous companies. Most laid-back bunch of idiots! Learn something from Cadence. They have a great support team
Lol! I worked with Apple folks and they blow your engineers out of the water. You guys dont want to work, just want to coast, may be not enough motivation. If you ask support team to complete your responsibilities, you cannot make great products. Your means not personally you but majority of Intel engineers. Before throwing words like ‘Idiots’ one should look into their own backyard!
What tool you support?
Synopsys be careful what you wish for. Intel being your biggest customer and all.
I am not tied to fortune of Synopsys, I can always change workplace, consider the above as personal opinion. Synopsys may need to suck up to customer but I dont have to.
was intel able to fix this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectre_(security_vulnerability) ?
Talent is leaving to AMD and NVIDIA left and right. Money talks, in this case RSUs 😅💸
Also to Apple and Microsoft
Does synopsys have gender neutral restrooms? We have them since long ago.
10 years ago I was just walking to my eye doctor for an appointment and happened to spot a USB drive laying in a ditch. I picked it up. And then took it home for inspection. The drive was full of confidential Intel documents and designs. Completely unencrypted. I’m not a HW guy so I didn’t fully understand what I was looking at. But I had until a few days earlier worked for a competitor. Such carelessness.
I remember I had an interview in Intel. One of the questions was what are you going to do if a manager asks you to work overtime. My reply was I would ask the manager to think it over. That was the answer why they didn't hire me. I think I was lucky.
You don’t overtime at NVIDIA? My buddies sure do lmao. Pretty sure they’d get roasted if they told their managers that.

Intel main focus is on diversity and inclusion, not getting their shit done

@vtQq15: unfortunately, a true statement. What is also funny is that OP’s post happens internally at Intel as well!
