I left Salesforce (was forced out during/before all the layoffs) about a year ago and am now at a Fortune 100 company who uses Salesforce. I can honestly say most of the Salesforce sales pitch is BS. The platform is nothing more than a luxury, overpriced CRM that you do not need to run a successful business. Can some of the features help? Sure. But a lot of other CRMs can accomplish most of what a business needs for a lot less flash and configuration. We have thousands and thousands of sales reps worldwide and I can say that probably 95% of the sales people and sales leadership only use Salesforce as a basic customer database. With the HubSpots, Microsofts, and many others out there, I’m not sure why any serious business would invest in the overpriced, ridiculously heavy to implement Salesforce anymore. Also, what a toxic company that place was the last several years. I am now seeing what a real culture with real people looks like. So much fluff and BS at Salesforce, it’s a shame! Hi, I'm a software engineer soon to be joining Salesforce Even I've been curious about why people use Salesforce... can you share more on this market... are you saying hubspot is a better product? But for huge orgs where customisation cost is irrelevant, Salesforce is the best product, right?
I am in a massive Global organization (Fortune 100) and I can’t see why we need Salesforce. For what we use it for, a lot of CRMs out there can do the same things. We do have a lot of integrations and pulling data into Salesforce from other systems, but I imagine Microsoft and HubSpot, probably others, can do the same.
But you haven't used the others?
Have you used MS dynamics?
Their Export to Excel date column is so confusing jan-6 or June -1 looks the same
Also worked at Salesforce a few years back. 100% agree with everything you said. That place was so toxic and full of people trying to feed you the kool aid. So glad to be out. I think in general I would recommend avoid working at Salesforce if they have other options.
Salesforce suck. My team ask the support sales why the mobile UX interaction was so horrendous.. Double click to tap??? It was the biggest complaints from our sales, Wtf. I had to design so many custom components integrating with Salesforce. Slow and unreliable
Where do you work at now?
