So I started doing internship in a company in splunk where they paid me enough just to cover my rent nd expenses and i worked with them for 10months after that they offered me a full time job and gave me 60k per anum offer even though I completed Splunk architect level certification and I am about to take splunk consultant certification. I asked for a 2 week leave for my sister marriage and they rejected it saying you took a 3 days leave for engagement and I requested the higher ups they accepted it at last . As i need sponsorship i requested them to sponsor for my H1b but they just brushed it off saying you have 3 attempts so lets do it next year. Now i felt bad and contacted a consultating firm to file my H1B. I got my H1b picked I sent only 1 application just to be clear. after that I tried to get a job and found a contract for another company and started working as a data engineer as i loved working with data but after 9 months my whole team got laid off(around 20+ people) now i am struggling to get an interview even for a full time . Now i am confused wether did i really make a good choice or not ?
If it helps it's the right decision.. pov being immigrantion is not something to take a chance I know few people who attempted 3 times but did not get picked in lottery .. they had to go to India and come back after many difficulties (working in us time as their team is here) .. also apply for i-140 asap .. the timelines for getting GC is not encouraging but better to be inline with PD locked .. as for the job sorry the market is bad now .. hopefully you get something sooner .. try not to have location constraints and move to any place even if it's difficult..(assumed you are Indian then only my immigration statements are valid)
Ya as i am single I dont have any location constraints. So trying my best. Thank you . regarding i-140 as i dont have any project in hand im not confident in filling it .
Hello OP Sorry for what happened to you. Don't regret your decision though, the company that said they can file your H1 next year might not have done it. Look at the positive side which is you have your h1b, which so many others don't have. Give your best to get a job and everything will be alright. We can't predict or plan everything in life. Give it some time and everything will be alright.
