I stayed at an Airbnb and the living conditions was absolutely disgusting and I vacated the building. I didn’t find the mattress condition until I changed the sheets then immediately left. Airbnb is not really helping me resolve the situation ( give money back) as the host is not responding and they say they are stuck. What should I do? This place should be taken down. Do I need to go to media, news, social, Small claims court on host and Airbnb? Not trying to be dramatic but the place was 5700 and was in horrible condition. We were getting sick in the house and didn’t know why. Absolutely feel embarrassed that we got scammed by this host and now she is claiming it’s a new mattress and we did the damage. I have canceled all future reservations until this is resolved and decided to go with VBRO for an upcoming trip.

I have a million pictures that I can post but the junk all around the yard Airbnb already admitted was not ok in a pet friendly place . I think I am just beyond agitated at this point. I know there has been plenty of lawsuits about scammers and clearly this person is one of them.

Normally I’m that way. But the lady is claiming I owe her money and have full photo and video proof. Honestly it’s not ok for these scammers to get 5700 and want 2000 for a mattress. I have already canceled my card on file so I can’t be charge the additional amount.
Op is not being a little person for demanding a refund from a thief who took their money and didn’t offer them what they said they would. I would do a vc chargeback op and even take this to social media
We recently had a terrible experience with AirBnB and they did nothing but side with the host then deleted my account so we could not contact AirBnB help anymore. I’ve used AirBnB for over 10 years with positive experiences but those were all uneventful stays. The moment you need any help, AirBnB is really bad.
I have full 5 start review with 45 places. It’s crazy that people that have good reviews get punished. I won’t be staying at Airbnbs anymore if this is the service they give.
I agree, I had all 5 star reviews too. I sent multiple messages and called several times for assistance. They said they reviewed my case and could not provide any assistance then closed my account. We never got our money back but luckily we didn’t have a safety issue, seeing how they handled this situation, I have no confidence in AirBnB to assist in an emergency.
File a complaint against AirBnb with the Attorney General office of your state. They have a consumer protection office that will try to help.
Ask for a chargeback from credit card or PayPal if you used it. That puts merchants (AirBnb, in this case) on the spot so they act quicker.

Do you expect engs to drop everything and help with your single stay? Nobody cares, deal with customer support and/or your credit card company.
Contact Airbnb customer support then call your credit card company to do back charge and provide evidence if they do not respond. That bed is absolutely disgusting. Airbnb employees here will not be able to assist you. You need to go through the proper channels for assistance.
I understand and have contacted cc company and support. I want to bring this to Airbnb employees attention as this is not a one off and they have a big problem on their hands. I have posted on FB and multiple people are having the same problem. I would hate to see another class action lawsuit and don’t really care about the money. It’s more about there is a problem with scammers and really need to get addressed in a global way. My problem, is not an individual problem, it’s a global issue
stop using airbnb; it’s so bad compared to a normal hotel nowadays. flakey, shitty landlords, dirty as fuck with expensive cleaning bs fees, and they make you do fucking chores before you leave. loved it a decade ago, but they have really gone to shit these last few years.
