Had an interesting conversation with a Lyft driver during a trip. Lyft charged me $63 dollars, the moment I jumped into the car, the Lyft driver started complaining the trip can barely cover his cost. He showed me Lyft only paid him $27 dollars. I was really surprised how much commissions UBER and LYFT take nowadays, that's just crazy!! He also told me will quit driving the next day and find a job a restaurant will make more than this. Not sure how this sustainable this gig economy will be.
They gotta pay all their engineers to build a mobile app somehow
Oh wow
It's at will. You feel sorry for him ? Then why don't you tip him the rest?
Its $63 is probably why.
I did tip him 20%. I know it's at will, but not everyone can make tech salary at bay area. Have a little bit compassion for someone who make your life easier but got robbed by the corporation.
So I guess we know where the other layoffs are going to come from.
There's only two ways to get filthy rich: Exploit people or exploit the environment. Take your pick.
Usually they have to do both
Cancel the ride. Directly pay driver $50-55.😄
I’m shorting Uber and Lyft now 🤡🤷♀️
Shame on Lyft
Hey woke sir/ma'am, why don't you just take a Taxi? Under your logic , you are just another accomplice..
