I legit started bawling when I saw this pop up on my phone. I don’t even know where to start. Just, thank you to everyone at Blind for creating this channel. So many other women will feel the same way. #MeToo.
This! Where was this a year ago?!? I shouldn’t complain but this would have solved so many problems.
You started crying when you read this because presumably what you have to deal with on a day-to-day basis is fucked. My heart goes out to you and all other women who have to endure similar things just so they don’t upset their boss. I’ve had a job like that before. I don’t now, thankfully. But I did about five years ago and it still weighs on my. #MeToo
Agree for the most part. What about aziz ansari? Sounded like a date gone bad.
But doesn’t anonymity defeat the purpose of #metoo? I mean. Without a name behind the accusation it’s just an empty signal. Like all the celebs that showed up to the golden globes wearing black while simultaneously not naming names. Not to mention they didn’t even invite Any of the celebs that spoke out like Rose, etc. We need to take accusations seriously and we still need due process. I don’t think anonymity is going to help.
I hope more people will be encouraged to use this channel. I disagree that anonymity defeats the purpose of #MeToo because I believe #MeToo is all about having the courage to speak up about your experience and have your voice be heard rather than be judged and fearing retaliation. Anonymity just adds to this purpose, I don't understand why anyone would think anonymity wouldn't help at all. It's very common sense and intuitive. Saying anonymity doesn't help at all is straight out oblivious and uncaring.
Women need to stop blaming themselves and other women for inappropriate behavior. I know I have been guilty for it as well. The fear is that false allegations will dilute the message. No matter the perceived degree of inappropriate behavior from others women need to support each other. I was against the "Babe.net" article at first, but I realized that it was essentially an editorial piece from an immature online magazine. The intended audience for that article was "women that don't give a f'ck". Directly quoted from their website. The article got way more press than it deserved. I do like that it started a conversation. We need to encourage girls to get into #STEM fields and support one another. #metoo
