I am on H-1B. I am on 30 days notice now. I am on a 90 days clock that started this Monday. I think that I need to prep for 2 weeks for the least, to get to a state, when I can start interviewing. I am a Full Stack Engineer but my significant experience is on backend. Should I try for full stack or back end positions? Suppose, I start interviewing by Feb 20 or Mar 1. Is there any hope for me to get a job and transfer my visa to the new employer within the next 2 months? This is for product companies. As I see posts saying onsite scheduled 2 weeks from now. I want to keep the consultancies as a last resort just to hold onto the visa and switch later to a product company.
Absolutely. I highly suggest leetcoding to get back in the swing of tech interviews if its been a while
Leetcoding is dead with ChatGPT for low to kid level roles
Not at all, for now at least. Chatgpt is also awful at leetcode
I think its 60 days.
Time to block this pos so that when it's his turn to come begging for help, which will come, there won't be many coming forth to help.
60 days.
OP forgot to mention he is having 30 days notice period. So it’s 30+60
OP start applying from now. So when u think u r ready u have calls in hand.
Don’t wait for 20 days to apply
FWIW, I’ve been laid off a number of times over the years. The longest I was ever out of work was three months. Some of that depends on wheher you’re willing to take something that’s not ideal just to keep some income rolling in. If you have a long list of specifics that you’re holding out for, then it could take longer.
Are you good at leet code though?
I have a very particular set of skills—skills I have acquired over a very long career.
Try to find a job asap and push for premium processing. It takes 3 weeks at maximum but i got mine in 10 days. If company is not doing premium processing, you can pay for it. Obviously company has to agree. It costs $2500 extra for PP.
Illegal for prospective employees to pay for it
Or you can join just with the receipt and don’t have to wait for the full transfer of h1b
Yes, possible. At least for banks this is hiring season.. Feb and march
