IBM CEO Arvind Krishna says most back-office positions, such as HR and accounting, will be replaced: “I could easily see 30% of that getting replaced by AI and automation over a five-year period.” AI is having an insane impact on the job market already. Who will follow this action?
It’ll be fascinating when AI screws up their accounting figures. And it’s audited by an accounting firm that also outsourced to AI. Then investors sue them for bad accounting. And IBM argues people make mistakes too so it’s okay for AI to make mistakes too. Then AI “can” improve”, but it won’t. In the end lawyers will win. Unless they’re outsourced too but I think the judges aren’t having a bar of that.
Lmao cope
They should start with the CEO position.
"Insane impact already" my ass lmao
Is anyone else extremely burnt out by hearing all this news?
Yes. It's annoying that people and companies are acting like the very concept of AI was just discovered at the end of last year.
+1
Their track record ain’t so good. Watson was supposed to be the shit for them and didn’t quite pan out.
This. In terms of AI IBM is all marketing hype and smoke and mirrors. I knew Watson was a scam the moment I saw the first ad.
Ibm knew that AI is the future and they invested in NLP and related tech starting from 2010. They poured billions into it and were the first to recognize the importance of AI... However the CEO then, Ginni Rometty, couldn't execute the vision and they failed. Current CEO has technical background so things may be different this time but even if they fail at executing again, what they said in the news article shows a glimpse of the future.
I wouldn’t put much stock in anything IBM says.
Are they replacing them with Watson?
Nice joke Watson- especially from IBM.😂
It’s just to be on the news
