I was told base:130k TC 150-160k YOE: 7ish specifically in-industry: 5 but that seemed low to me. Just trying to understand the room to negotiate. Any salary Ic4 or Ic5 to share for Austin?
Lmao that sounds insane. I make more than than in NC
Agreed, seems incredibly low even for the company. But design has a large salary spread
Welcome to Austin
If base is 130k, your TC will be much higher because your cash will be 150k including bonus.
I’d be much more interested in a higher base than anything else, do you have any advice that may help during negotiation?
Usually there's not much room to negotiate on the base pay. The most room you have is on stocks. I'd be interested in knowing how much stock they offer. At E5 I'm expecting a TC between 250k and 300k in Austin
YOE?
7, any tips for upping that base during negotiation?
What role?
This is for ux design/content
Ux design and content strategy are two separate roles at FB. Which one is it? Designers get paid way more than content strategists here.
Jeez is Austin pay that low? E5 in MPK get ~400k TC. Designer comp should be close to eng, right?
No, designers don't get as much as engineers at FB. Equity is much less.
When u not mention the ladder or role, you really expect an answer?
I don’t know how to answer the ladder question. This is for a content strategy role
So 0 equity?
I’m concentrating on base over TC
You should look at Netflix then
Wait so are you not getting stock or just ignoring it? FYI stock is as good as salary at a company like FB. It's not something that you should discount ala paper money at a startup.
But isn’t it locked up until you work there a certain amount of time?
Only a 3 month cliff at FB (plus time before grant)
TC or base salary?
Trying to find out either. More interested in Base. Was told 130k base which seems like a lowball to every thing else I’ve seen for IC5
Depends what role for IC5.
