Hi blind. I am a Canadian living in the us and considering moving to a tax haven (Carmen islands, the Bahamas, etc) for ipo. These countries are giving away work visas right now... Has anyone done this? Will my double trigger RSUs be taxed in the US still as I earned them here? I do not have a green card or US citizenship . #DoorDash #airbnb #ipo

If you’re in California your complete rsu grant is taxable in California regardless of where you move to.
I’m in Washington- no income tax. Any thoughts on federal tax?
Don't believe this is strictly correct. If you successfully break california residency, you'll be taxed on an apportioned basis, roughly proportional to the percentage of time between grant and vest which was spent in California. Search for "california rsu apportionment". However, it can be tough to establish that you've truly relinquished residency. Also, if you are working remotely but have CA as your official home location, you still pay CA taxes on this time.
