This is probably the worst case. Because, a H1B transfer will be issued as a consular processing and you'll have to get the new employer stamped on your passport - aka dropbox.
Right, the employers are just waiting for you to apply and then to extend an offer to you!
Ideal situation. Better to stay in India, get a new job and come back after approval.
You need to catch a sooner flight and enter before your current employment ends legally. A good chance companies support (laid off) H1B folks by keeping them on payroll a few extra days/weeks, in lieu of the severance money.
