Is there any changes in Samsung India pay practices which I am not aware of. Samsung India is considered to not pay employees at par with other companies like Nvidia, Qualcomm, AMD, Intel, etc. where significant portion of employee's TC comes from RSUs. Yet they show zero hesitation in interviewing their employees. Obviously condidate coming from any company would expect a market standard hike on their overall TC including stocks. Recently my friend, who work for Qualcomm india, was approached by Samsung HR. My friend TC in Qualcomm is very high both cash and stocks, still to his surprise Samsung India HR is scheduling interviews. Obviously my friend has told them that he would expect hike as per market standards. Is there any changes in Samsung India pay practices which I am not aware of. Friend TC - he is senior staff engineer in Qcom with 11 YOE. Obviously I don't know about his exact salary details, what I know is he told 63 Lakhs as cash component and $85,000 stocks, still Samsung HR had scheduled his first interview which he cleared and will appear for next. #samsungelectronics #samsung #nvidiasalary #intel #qualcomm #AMD #nvidia
I don't agree with this. I have friends in Samsung Bangalore . And these guys have good base and rsu + bonus compared to what qcom pays in India. Btw what's the TC of your friend in qcom India and YOE?
Not sure about his TC part, added the relevant details in the post.
I have a similar experience with Samsung. They could not match my compensation. It will be a waste of time. HR asked for my compensation details after all rounds of interview and never came back 😂😂 After recent hike in stock price, there is no chance that they can pay you equal or more than Qualcomm.
Samsung compensates for the RSUs via joining bonus. They do pay high but on case to case basis. That means at same grade, folks might have insane pay differences.
If sumsung give heavy joining bonus than conditions are equally heavy, like you need to complete 24 months for each installment of bonus. Whereas RSU are completely yours once they get vested.
Typically RSUs are vested over 3-4 years. Heavy joining bonus typically also have lock in period, 1-2 years. There are pros and cons for either of them.
Afaik, Samsung has a lot of Pay disparity. They mostly start with lowball offer based on your college, prev org, etc and then then try to match with any competing offer you have... Comparing with Nvidia,Qcom, etc they give some bonuses spread over the years to match the TC but I think overall it's still less that other's TC including stocks.
Hi @Samsung, I’m getting an offer from Samsung. Need some info on the team . Shall I ping you?
Hi @BxaB61 Can you share your offer details
The same thing happened to me. It's weird and a huge waste of time. Samsung HR seems to be just passing time. The HM wanted to buy me out of my current ORG but the offer which HR gave me was less than what I am currently making, LOL. This has never happened and it's so stupid of Samsung India HR.
Afaik samsung offers very high base.
Any numbers you know? But still they do not match with what their counterparts pay in cash + RSU
Not sure about numbers but what I know so far is, samsung offers higher base compared to Qcomm and fixed bonus to adjust rsus.
