Once the pandemic eases and offices open fully, will you quit if WFH is no longer an option?
I joined my company fully remote. More money was the main focus of my search but remote work was my secondary goal.
which location?
Could you please give me a referral? I seriously don’t want to go back to office life.
Yup.
Same here
Joined Twitter 3 months after they announced permanent wfh
How is it so far?
I like it
Yeah, depending on the role. I feel people have adapted to function just as well without being physically at work. Yes, sometimes things can be simpler by being physically together but I am not commuting on a daily basis, and fucking up the environment so that managers can do their job of keeping an eye on their team.
It’s all about accountability. Also, happy people are more productive.
Car exhaust gases have minuscule effect compared to damage meat production has so if you eating burgers you might as well drive
Hm let me think... So once everything reopens we will have a bunch of people that want to work from home, and a lot of companies that have 20 year leases for offices and wanting to keep an eye on employees. I wonder what will that do to remote salaries? Anyone with an economic degree to predict what happens when supply exceeds demand ?
I feel ever since WFH started, there is less room for office politics and dealing with toxic coworkers. If moving to a LCOL area with a pay cut means overall a better QOL, I will take it.
It cuts both ways. Less office politics but also less casual conversations. The probability of overhearing a watercolor conversation is now close to zero and I really miss that. Oh well...
No. I get that WFH is cool, but my wife and kids will drive me crazy if this becomes a permanent thing. I'm cool with a hybrid environment but permanent? nevaaaa
Send them kids to daycare. That’s what am doing soon. 😎. Well wife 🤷🏻♂️ no daycare for them (yet) I wish there was one.. 🤔. lol kidding 😂( or am I???🙂)
Tell your wife to get a hobby and your kids to school and after school activities. Deal with it.
I switched from a 100% WFH job after 5 years exactly to get back into an office. Then covid happened right when i accepted the offer...
Lol your timing is amazing
It gets even better, I moved from an Asian country which stayed mostly open to the UK. Talk about worst decision of a lifetime.
Everyone who is saying yes should follow up and prove if they actually do. I doubt many actually do.
As if we aren’t talented with loads of other options?
Not at all, it just sounds like a lot of complaining/whining & so far it seems no large company is too concerned considering nearly all are heading back to the office at least part time lol easy to complain, don’t think most will follow through.
Not interested in going back in the office full time. I’m focusing on remote opportunities to avoid returning to Bloomberg.
Has Bloomberg announced a long term WFH policy?
No long term wfh policy for Bloomberg. Mike is saying we are an office first culture and wants everyone back as long as it’s within CDC guidelines.
Working on finding a remote role. I don't want to go back to see the boomers pull in a conference room meeting and expect people to bring in pen and paper....
I love this comment. Boomers get ready to lose young talent.
LOL, I love pen & paper and I'm not a boomer.
