Friendly advice to all who are planning to do MS and are planning to come to US. Rethink or talk to people before making decisions. Life here is not what you see in the instagram. Visa issues are not going to resolve for next 20 yrs. So don’t hope that. And with Visa, you will live in constant fear for rest of your life here. Better build a side business back in India.
Thanks mate 😘 Already crossing the southern border
bdk
Good luck! Let us know if you successfully make it through the border.
Not many students on blind. Unfortunately the US craze is still pretty high in India and thousands will come after spending life savings of their parents. Some succeed, some are just caught up in the neverending visa wars
Well the people in US make it sound enticing with reels but fail to show the reality
Yeah work in Accenture and then exploit the hell out of EB1-C. I did two masters in US from tier-1 schools and yet it took me 17 years to get permanent residency. A guy from Accenture can study from tier-3 college in India, bootlick his way to green card in 5-6 years with no masters degree.
Stop whinning. My cleaner who can barely understand anything is getting GC. At least accenture employee is better than him. This is how the laws are here and this is not your country lol
@Qualcomm: if it took you 17 years to get a GC, you seem to have started the process in 2007 or earlier. No offense but something sounds very wrong about your GC application. My contacts who just followed normal procedures during 2007 definitely did not require 17 fucking years. There’s something obvious you missed. I agree that GC process is fucked up in 2024
First question they will ask you is “why are you still there?”. I would suggest let them experience it. We are not there to educate them and waste our time
lol
It’s a good question. What’s stopping you from going back and building a side hustle?
OP This advice has been valid for the last 20 years but nothing has stopped Indians from coming on F1 or H1. In fact the stream has increased every year.
Not at all true for last 20 years . Only in issues since 10 years
20 years is a long time. World population is shrinking. With baby boomers retiring at record pace plus record amount of debt the US is saddling, there is going to be a structural shortage of young people/labor. I wouldn't be surprised if US congress is forced into enacting major visa reforms. Just my 2 cents.
Probability of happening this is very low. Vote bank drives everything. US debt was very high in 2010 as well and no laws changes has been made till now. I don’t see much happening on visa front though.
On the debt front, US is sitting on a very thin ice now compared to 2010. "Unsustainable" was the word used by *current* Fed chairman Jerome Powell in his recent 60 minutes interview. Significant chunk of US expenses is expected to go towards servicing its debt. Stanley Druckenmiller has given multiple interviews on this topic, how social security is going to require cut etc., It's on YouTube. In other words, things are not looking great economically for the US in the medium term. Hard times are ahead. But of course, long term, as Warren Buffett says, I would not bet against America.
Yes I’m going to go back to Bangalore and build a telemarketing scam
bc😀
Amway is the way
Even with all the "first world" and the media hyped problems in US, the general quality of life is very good for the avg citizen. Yes there is inflation but retail consumption is showing strong, yes there is crime like shootings, breakins but they are localized to certain areas. Yes real estate is a mess, but thats a general worldwide problem not specific to US. Compared to anywhere else in the world, if we see quality of life, income potential, personal freedoms, enterpreneural opportunities and day to day consumer affordability - there is no place on earth other than US that gives all these combination to citizens.
Not all is true
Which parts
If you're an entrepreneurial man from India don't come to the US. If you're a man who is extremely specialized/intelligent or a woman in your early 20s the US is the best place for you.
^American dream is valid only for hot young woman not for a tech bro 😔
