Everyone on blind seems to be making 250k+ , first year out of college
Honestly, it’s really hard to fire someone in the US for fear of litigation. So if you get fired, most likely you F’d really bad. Doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a bad engineer, could be just really bad employee (bad habits, broke company policies, etc).
But don't ton of people get laid off?
Not sure I agree it's hard to fire someone in the US.. It happens all the time. Big companies usually have HR whose job is to make sure the process protects the employer from discrimination suits.
If yiu get fired it means the company decided for whatever reason they don't need you anymore, or they cannot pay yiu anymore. There is zero correlation to how good or bad an engineer you are.
Lol, the only people who think this are the bad engineers trying to cope. The harsh truth is that companies are not firing or laying off their top engineers (unless it’s like sexual harassment or something)…they just aren’t. Top engineers leave by choice.

Not always.
No, it just means you didn’t get on your knees and kiss the ring
