A related question. Should you calculate tips pre tax or after tax (I think this is most people do?)
Don’t be cheap. It doesn’t make that big of a difference. Just go after tax.
If you see receipts have precalculated tip options(15%, 20%, 25%), they are all calculated based on after tax. High tax states also mean you need to tip more
Don't tip based on price of meal. Tip on what you think is appropriate. At bars: I give $1 a drink. Quick service diner: minimal tip ($2 -$3 per person served). Uber ride: minimal tip ($1). Fancy restaurant: $7 per person served. I don't see why the meal price should have relationship to the tip.
You are incorrect on all points.
Enlighten me
I don't believe in tipping
🤦♂️
European, or just a troll?
20% on the original price is a solid way to go. Bars: bring/pour me a beer: one buck. Bars: mix me a whacky drink, 3 bucks. As the amount of people escalates, get generous or shift to percentage on the whole bill. And always tip big if somebody in your party is an asshole.
^This plus tip big if there’s a kid in your party.
Kids are assholes... Jk, I mean potentially disruptive patrons that make others’ experience sub-par.
keep it simple and tip 0
Keep it really simple and dine and dash
Original price (before coupon)
Then why sales tax is calculated based on the discounted price?
Because tips aren’t a tax
