I'll never do another take home assessment and you shouldn't either

I was in the process of interviewing with Dropbox, I completed the 1st round and the 2nd round was a fairly in-depth take home assessment. I considered withdrawing because I thought this take home assessment was too much to ask for from a candidate, but I really wanted to work at Dropbox so I spent a significant amount of my time on it and I was just about to the end of my window for it, I was going to give it a quick review tonight and send it off, but instead I got an email from the recruiter that they're closing/pausing this role. Dropbox wasted my time and I'm pissed. #interview #dropbox #dropboxinterview #dropboxcompany

The take homes are ridiculous. I did one for userzoom, spent two weeks on it, did my interview, and was told at the end of the interview they had already extended an offer to another candidate. So they knowingly wasted my time

Yeah, I've always refused take homes. Sometimes to my surprise, they actually skipped it moved me to the on site interviews. If everyone starts doing that, they might get the message.

Melodramatic much

I’ve ignored so many requests from Amazon to do the online assessment. I’m sure it’s way less time consuming than these other take homes but still

What was the role? Dropbox hiring freeze?
