Housekeeping items: 1. TC 275k (including krooze coin) 2. 3yoe 3. Cruise trolls, shoo, shoo### Okay. Let me start with what my life is like right now. My Team: Not your shiny Will Larson ideal, but functional. My Manager: This is the fourth manager in my career. He has his quirks and is by no mean perfect, but I trust him, a lot. He provides direct and honest feedbacks that are actionble. He is willing to talk about career with me at a depth that none my former bosses did or would. My co-workers: Cruise is my second job. So I probably do not have the best reference. I love the people that I work with. Although, they can be pushy and annoying at times. It’s not like I can ever find a girl who could stay perfect forever. Flaws are just foils to one’s strength. I love how smart, hardworking, and dedicated my co-workers are. Well, most of them are. In the meanwhile, I’m constantly learning new perspectives and experience from my co-workers. My work: This really differs team to team and person to person. Some teams can be dreadful; or you might just not be fit for your role. I love what I do. I find myself outside of my comfort zone and in need of pushing harder just the right amount of times. Very few days are boring. The WLB is okay in my view as a single 20s male engineer. The layoff: Am I scared? f ya! I don’t have a green card and immigration limbo scares me. What should I do? HODL? (If finding a job after layoff is doable. I need your experience and wisdom on this one Blind) Jump Ship RIGHT NOW! Interview Google maybe? Heard that google offers last for a whole year? #layoff #career
Cum to zoox baby

It’s a wrap for AD/AV .. move into another industry ..
Since you have immigration issues, I highly suggest getting some offers from big and stable companies first. Give yourself options. And prepare as early as possible. When the second wave of lay-off comes, if it does, you would be in a much worse position looking for another job.
Jump before the ship sinks
If there’s any negative signal at Cruise. Multiple EMs are leaving. I’m sure they see the sinking ship and are leaving while they can. Leetcode and stable profitable companies are your best options.
Ride the donkey until you find a horse
