Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
GitHub going fully remote, but blind has been talking for months about return to office. Is remote work winning out?
WFH for life.
Where is Other? WFH will fade and only be applicable to short term employers. Exception is when companies cannot find good talent they will lure them with WFH. Eventually WFH will be for the brilliant and rare talent the rest will have to RTO with approval for WFH on case per case basis which existed long before Covid.
Outside of the tech world, every other industry is already preparing for permanent WFH or hybrid models. This isn't just a pandemic fad.
Boeing has already started. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/boeing-is-cutting-2000-hr-and-finance-jobs-outsourcing-some-to-india/ar-AA17d4qE Some in tech question that tech jobs wont be outsourced to India because all the smart talent is in the US. That is why once those that are already trained in the US and laid off will be easily hired in India. These are your top talent here.
RTO is just a phase. It is being leveraged against us in this industry to reduce work force. They know people will quit. WFH will come back
WFH is going off work or lower your pay, there is no other options
As pointed out, GitHub has always been fully remote. The companies pushing RTO were either hybrid or transitioned to WFH during COVID, it’s a very different situation.
Github is a company that helps remote team be productive.
GitHub has always been remote first. Not sure why in the posts they make it out to seem like we’ve been going to the office now that we are closing it? This is purely to save money as the number of employees actually going to the offices were a fraction. Please don’t use us as the golden rule since as I mentioned we have always been remote first.
