Hello all , I’m Indian . 26 M . Initially I was working as SAP consultant in it mnc company for 2 years . Then I saw these YouTube videos of developers and got me interested in this domain .I thought why not do a career change . I went to training institutes and I learned Java . I got released from my SAP project , joined java project . My first java project is migration project , there wasn’t any coding at all, just I was fixing bugs/errors. Then I switched to another it company . There also I got maintenance project , I didn’t do coding at all . Now my relevant experience in Java became 2 years. Still I don’t know how to code , how to logically think. There was a layoff and they terminated me from the company. Then I joined a startup thinking I could learn there , improve my coding skills . But the team there was not good . No collaboration, no mentor , everyday stress , burnout . After getting stuck in a bug , my seniors did my help /guide me . They’re saying I can’t spoon feed me . Everything I have to figure it out from my end . Everyday I don’t feel like working / going to office . I was in probation period , it’s been 2 months . In daily standup , I was giving same status for 3 weeks and nobody helped me .They assigned me to a pip and I resigned . After joining this startup , I don’t feel passionate to work as a developer . I hate programming now .I’m stuck .I can’t even get junior developer roles , just because I have 2 years of exp , they’re giving me senior developer roles . In all these 3 companies working as java developer I felt stressed in every project , I still don’t how to code . I don’t feel like continue to work as a developer for next 20 years.I don’t feel any motivation to work as a developer now .#software #engineering #swe #swe #software #software #engineering #engineering #swe #swe 1) I’m thinking of changing my career from java developer to cyber security. I have seen lot of my colleagues saying it’s a easy job , repetitive boring job with good pay. Should I change my domain to cyber security ? The higher paying security jobs require a degree of coding in the day to day
So you want more money and no work ? Btw cyber security jobs don’t pay as much as to those who code.
Why not? Are you asking for guidance on how to switch?
I want to switch , but if I take entry level . I have to compromise on my salary
I want same salary and I want to switch to cybersecurity
