I got a job in Canada and will be moving from NJ to Toronto. Want to get in touch with ppl who have moved from US to Canada or Toronto would be even better. Just to figure out the move and best way to do things.
You're moving to a better place!!! Better people better lifestyle better pollution better traffic (actually no traffic)
I heard! Are u in Toronto currently?
No traffic? What kind of bs lie is that?!
How much percentage pay cut?
I got another offer in CA too. I'm getting the same amount in CAD that I would have gotten in USD.
Wow. It means either you got a shitty California offer or super amazing Canada offer. Mind sharing TC?
TC or GTFO. BTW, I come from Toronto. People move the other way around.
Go to movnorth.com, it is very active, and dedicated to folks immigrating to Canada.
Great!! Thanks. That will definitely help
Here's another site that might help: washroom.ca
You need to think of what your priorities are. If a passport is your main goal, then you know the obvious choice. You can sacrifice US great weather (depending where you live) and ~3 to 5 years of great USD comp to become a Canadian citizen, as well as many other things. If you don't really care about becoming a Canadian citizen and $$ is important, then you can always delay your move. Also, not sure how you're getting all these responses without a TC, so TC or GTFO
Dude your taxes are about to go way up
It's about 30% right? Still less than CA taxes
No. Lol. You said Toronto? Check out: https://neuvoo.ca/tax-calculator/?iam=&uet_calculate=calculate&salary=100000&from=year®ion=Ontario
