I hope every other H1Bs working could have already heard the news in regard to ban or hold #h1b for time being. Saw some latest update on Bloomberg that every H1B employee will need to prove that they are not replacing an American job. What do you guys think about this - i believe this will more chaos and result in tax and revenue loss to government. BTW i am also #h1b #workvisa #h1b #coronaimpact
No hold on H1B only no new GC will be issued
That’s sounds no sense to me. Is he concerned about GC or jobs ?
That’s what it sounded like when he said it during the press conference
Only thing Trump cares about is election. He doesn’t care if it creates more chaos or increases gov spending
The reality is this sort of extreme measure is to open up real legislation on immigration. Right now with unemployment as high as it is and plenty of companies laying off employees, there will be laid off Americans who could take open roles. The whole point of this is should be to essentially give laid off American workers first dibs at jobs and then those that cannot be filled can go to immigrants. No chaos, no loss of revenue.
On the press conference, Trump just said it only affects people seeking permanent visa. Not temporary. That would mean H1B's not affected?
he just mentioned 60 day suspension of green card applications
Just 60 days suspension for GC, as per his latest press conference.
As of now , seems like no impact on H1B applications . Only 60 day suspension of green card processing

Israeli precision-guided munition likely killed group of children playing foosball in Gaza, weapons experts say
We get the H1 after proving that there are no qualified citizens who can do this job. Now you need to prove it again?
I don’t think that’s the case for H1B. Only for GC/LPR proof is needed that there is no qualified citizen. At least that was the case during my time in 2015.
Now I think that’s the process after recent changes to the H1 process. Not sure though.
