Importance of internships for a good career start

I'm a MSc student soon about to graduate and I only have six months experience in hardware / systems software for ML applications. I have time for one or two more internships but I applied way too late so not hearing back from most companies in the US. I live in Europe and European offices still have some opportunities. Meanwhile I'm reaching final rounds of a mid-sized japanese company, which is no name but somehow has a LOT of alumnis from big names like MIT, google etc and they advertize it a lot. But to be fair, after stalking the company on linkedin, I feel like most of them joined because it was a good gateway to Japan (many are openly weebs or dating japanese women) and not because the company is actually attractive in terms of growth or salary. Should I go for it? Or keep aiming for something more well known like Sony, Samsung or Logitech which hire a lot of interns from my school? I don't know how much branding is required on a CV to snatch a good new grad job at a big tech / quant company. But I also don't want to waste one my final internship offers before graduation.

Take any internship you can get, especially since you are starting late. Internship opportunities are also being impacted by the economy.

Why “starting late”?

Why shouldn’t he just wait for full time opportunities?
