Rephrasing my title: With well-known companies like Yelp, Tripadvisor, Lendingclub, Airbnb, Sumologic and likely Uber rescinding signed new grad offers, would you accept multiple offers if you were a new grad this year?
Acceptable to whom? The companies certainly won’t feel it’s acceptable. The only other party is you. Personally, I did it as a newgrad just to have a safety net while I interviewed for better companies. And that was a regular year, the world wasn’t teetering on the brink of economic collapse. I’d say all bets are off for a newgrad today, nobody can really fault you. If you do it operate under the assumption that you probably wont get a chance to work there again, but there are thousands of companies.
I had 2 offers and both of them were rescinded 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Shit. Care to share their names?
One was a mid tier startup in SF and the other was oracle
Dude, if you arent accepting multiple offers and pitting them against eachother, you're going it wrong.
Same. Thought it was wrong at first but honestly glad I accepted another one as a backup.
Sucks to be graduating rn.
How could you even do that? Different start dates?
Most new grads are expected to join some time in June/July, after May graduation. So you can accept multiple and renege before joining.
It's always ok
