Hypocrisy of Indians
My coworkers and I are extremely unhappy with our manager- he doesn’t meet the technical and leadership bar and got the role by luck. We provided honest feedback and we hope to see some changes from skip level, but nothing has taken place so far. We are all ready to leave the team, if we don’t see any productive change. What is your recommendation in this situation?
Bypass him wherever possible, interact with his boss and external teams directly
We tried our most and that’s when his micromanagement gets in
Skip level will give his own judgement in hiring this person the benefit of doubt.
Leave to a different group if you can. If not, leave the company.

Is this actually a joke though?

He got hired after me 😓
So should we be direct with skip level that if you don’t react we will leave?
I wouldn’t make that threat. My experience has been that managers usually win this battle. I would just find a new team or a new company
You would have to ensure your entire team has solid offers in hand before you jeopardize your current source of bread and butter.
what level are you? This is very immature thinking unless you explain how are you really impacted.
How does your manager not meet the leadership and tech bar according to you? What impact does it have on your work and career? Finally how long has he been your manager?
Which location
Skip level. However if your manager and his/her Manager are close, good luck.
This is exactly our situation!
They are not close, but we don’t know why skip level doesn’t do anything
