Masters in wirelss/DSP+ 6 years relevant experience I started working at my current employer for the past 5 months in India. I am not very comfortable with some of the tasks I am doing, work culture and the WLB is quite bad at times. I have been offered a position at Nokia 5G. The salary change is around 15 %, that too in additional/variable incentives. Base salary is almost the same. Even the HR mentioned during the interview that Nokia doesn't pay well like my current employer but there is a WLB and you don't burn out like in my current company (his observation :) i never even mentioned it to him). One of the people I know who has good information about the telecom market has recommended me not to switch. I would prefer the semiconductor industry as its more relevant but not much wireless algorithms positions in India and they are hard to crack. Do you think I should go for it? Thanks TCTC: 27 L per year (Fixed)
Life is too short to be not happy for 8-10 hours everyday. Don't worry about switching. Keep learning. Also, HR in India lies all the time, they think they are paying from their own pocket. Negotiate more. Ask whatever you need to be happy. Or find a different company. Don't be passive about negotiations.
Stay away from Nokia if you're behind high pay & TC, since you're in India and I presume you don't have any visa issues like in the US, find something else in future to switch jobs. WLB is good at Nokia but with uncertaintity around current telecom industry might make things complicated and I anticipate more layoffs occuring until this recession passes away.
What team are you looking for? IPD in Bangalore is good. You should be able to negotiate additional 5-10 % easily.
If you are looking for WLB then hands down Nokia. ION division is good in terms of pay. Plus for 6 YoE 27lac +15% variable is good as per Indian compensation standard. Try to negotiate 5-10% more if possible.
With Nokia ( or any other telecom) you would chance to work and contribute to latest tech. WLB is great, at least on those countries I have worked with Nokia ( 6 countries totally). As many said, salary development is not good if you stay at the same position, however there's lots opportunities internally to change job and country as well.
What position Nokia offered you and what's the job grade?

Why do Indians support Israel so much( on blind surprisingly) when Israel really thinks 💩of them ?
Why to continue when you are not happy? BTW, switching to other company doesn’t guarantee happiness.
