Hello blind community, I am a newbie here. I am a PhD student (at a Tier-1 institute) with a focus on Machine Learning and Operations. My work tries to make operational processes such as delivery, packaging efficient. Also, I recently started looking at NLP. I am planning to graduate by the end of this year and have a few questions. I am planning to join Amazon/Flipkart as most of my work is related to e-commerce. However, I am open to expand my NLP skills to apply to other companies such as Microsoft, Uber, Google etc. Mostly am looking at Applied Scientist or Research Scientist roles. I have roughly 10 months to prepare. Could you please answer the following questions? What is the difference between both RS and AS roles in India at Amazon. How different are the interview evaluations? Also, at what levels does these roles start. I heard that RS-I starts at L5 and AS-I starts at L4. I saw few profiles where PhD grads are directly given RS-II roles, is it an exception or doable? What are the software, math, ml/dl skills that are tested in these interviews? I found a few AS interview questions on Quora, but it would be really helpful if a interview preparation platform (or relevant books) is suggested? Experience: 19 Months in a IT Consultancy company before PhD. (ETL/Data Engineer work) Current skills: ML, DL, Reinforcement Learning, Linear Programming and related optimization methods, Vehicle Routing, Search Algorithms Research Papers: 2 under review, expected to be published by graduation. 3 will be in review stage. (All in Operations journals or Data Mining Journals: All are Q1 in Scimago rankings.) Languages Proficient in: Python, R, SQL, Shell Scripting. Frameworks: Tensorflow, Pytorch, Scikit learn In some of the linkedin job posts, I see C/C++/Java requirements. Is it required to pickup any of these? I forgot most of C & Java, please suggest any additional languages or frameworks that I should pickup. #datascience #dataanalytics #datascience #machinelearning #deeplearning #operations #nlp
