Im always nationalistic to India and ABCDs always saying current leadership is super Islamaphobic and such but when I tell them I disagree and I don’t think thats true, I get labelled a hindu nationalist. What yall think? Regardless of what anyone thinks I think its safe to say that life as a mulim in India is eons better than life as a hindu in Pakistan (however few there are). Also how can India be Islamaphobic when Islam is growing in India? Hinduism in Pakistan went from majority many years ago to now single digit percent. If anything Pakistan is Hindu phobic. Thoughts? TC 83k YoE 1#India #India
People will always find some reason to hate. Ignore them, ABCDs here are clueless about India. I spoke with a few and they are super woke and are snowflakes
Curios to know What are some super woke things you observed?
You can say Pakistan is the worst country on earth for non Muslim and I can discuss with you without any issue. So that’s one thing. Now let’s get back to India: India politics is derived by Hindu nationalism and top figures that hate Muslims. They do everting they can to make their life miserable. India is stripping citizenship to hundreds of thousands of Muslim indians. Hindu attack Muslims and kill them without any impunity. So, regardless of what you think, India is a hostile environment for Muslims.
This is fair, im not a fan of the ostracizing that current leadership does to muslims.
I may be living under a rock but cannot find evidence of India stripping citizenship of Muslims.
As a Pakistani, you're right- life in Pakistani as a Hindu is horrible. There are people working on this and voicing it (YouTubers like Syed muzammil, junaid akram, and Moroo). But the two shouldn't be related. India, as a country, is not comparable to Pakistan. Bigger in size, population, economic power and etc. just more advanced all around. You would not turn around and compare yourselves to any other nation that is objectively doing worse than you and hold them as any standard. That being said, the situation of Muslims in India should be seen objectively and there is no doubt the current government has a track record of pushing Muslims to the side to put it kindly. This matter should be discussed with Indian Muslims, not pakistanis of any background.
Is comparing with Pak best you can do?
true, Pakistan is a shithole
Then why are you comparing with Pak?
That exactly is the problem, our standard of comparison for everything is pakistan. Are the voters this level of dumb that any sales pitch bundled with "better than pakistan" is acceptable? Did you know that Pakistan has a better hunger index than India? Hunger doesn't discriminate, I can assure you that! Being nationalistic to the country has got nothing to do with your allegiance to the leadership. If you can't ask the hard questions to your government, I am sorry you have failed your country/people. And the one thing you are not is nationalistic! This goes for any citizen in any country.
Hunger doesn't discriminate but the people who collected the data do. Whenever *index shows Pak is better than India you should dig into how the data is collected. I am sorry to say that the education system of wherever you grew up has failed you. You grew up without developing critical thinking.
Im an ABCD myself, I am not fully aligned with the BJP but I do think BJP is better than congress and not as bad as RSS. Im more a fan of Modi then I am the BJP cause Modi has done a lot to put India on the map. By building relations with all the countries while not aligning with their international policy, he has given indians opportunity to go abroad, to the point where people talking about reverse colonization.
I don't think people realize that Hindu sentiments have ignored for quite a while in India in favor of muslims. There are so many benefits that were given to muslims in the name of appeasement politics. Since the current government is not appeasing them it looks like they are anti-Muslims. Can anyone site a policy this government made that can be viewed as islamophobic ??? I can think of only caa and that too has been explained quite a lot by the government.
Kudos to you for saying this
Since when protecting supressed minorities(CAA)is Islamophobic, it is actually protecting them from suffering they are going through due to (mostly)Islamic countries , I guess human right advocates will stay on sideline for this one.
Most ABCD learn about India in their universities which describe India in the worst manner possible. The narrative is heavily leaning on the left with a nice dose of woke. Islam and the left are in bed with each other in democratic countries. Almost anyone who trusts the dominant narrative in the US is going to believe current leadership is islamophobic. If you get labeled as a Hindu nationalist, you are asking the right questions.
Our problem is that we give f about what people say. Islamic and Christian countries are extreme in order protect their religions/culture but if India does even a single thing to protect its own culture, it become human rights issue. I understand your point but we just need to stop giving f about what others think and start thinking about our own interest.
I agree with this too. Saffronization of Indian education is seen as Islamaphobic when all its doing is emphasizing the true crimes of the invaders. Muslim or not, most will agree that the Mughals weren’t true muslims due to their crimes. Certainly not Jannah material
Every minority in any nation feels marginalized, Muslims in India are no different. I only realized it after moving to US. It’s not just about any government, it’s how society treats them. Don’t even talk about Pakistan, they are clueless on their ancestry and why they formed a country in first place. All their beliefs on why they formed Pakistan turned out to be false, you see this with internal struggle among tribes and separation of Bangladesh.
Both cultural and economical priorities can be worked on at the same time which currently Indian government is doing.
Would you say its safe to assume that without prioritizing indian culture in India, Indian culture would decline?
