An RFE is an additional inquiry that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services can ask for when it requires additional evidence to make a decision on an H1B case. An RFE can be for information about either the beneficiary or the petitioner, or both
Too lazy to read full article but does this take the proportion of Indian applications into account. Indians make up the biggest part of H1B applicants so it would be normal to have highest number of RFEs
Yes, it does take it into account. What it doesn’t take into account is what percentage of those RFEs are given to applicants from consulting companies.
The Indian consulting companies dominate H1b applications, naturally they would receive more RFEs. I’d like to see rate of RFE for Indian vs non-Indian applications at FAANG+PAUL etc
Why does the picture show an Indian passport with bribe money in it? Is that how they suggest people apply for the visa?
Why do you assume it’s bribe money? 😂
We need per country limits on H1b visas, right now they are majorly taken up by Indian applicants but none of them get PR. This has led to a ‘jammed funnel’ situation where input (of Indian H1b applicants) is high but output of PR is very very less. Unfortunately not gonna happen with the employer lobby who love the quandary the H1b folks are in !
Diversity? Like with GCs? NO WAY THEY ARE DOING THAT!
If you reject the cap, you’re rejecting a path to citizenship. All immigration systems have country caps. Without a country cap, you are circumnavigating a form of real immigration.
More proof of anti hindu bias in the US.
Anti Hindu bias? 1) Not all Indians are Hindus 2) Indian get the highest # of E-GC/year which is > 20%(India is 18% of world by population) Flash news: Indian is not limited by the 7% quota. You sound very entitled, perhaps this country is not for you.
1. All Indians (from Kabul to Saigon and Lhasa to Malé) were Hindus at some point. And this entire country has always and will always be majority Hindu. 2. This is for GC issued. We’re talking about H1B visas. You sound like a fucking racist, maybe this country isn’t for you.
Also, in other breaking news: Indian applicants more likely to use shady Indian 'consulting' companies. Let's face the fact that no other nation had actually setup questionable visa manufacturing entities at such scale. I have no issue with H1B, but you need to agree that there are so many shady orgs out there that take your money and promise visas for whole family.
Yup true . At least the small fraudulent body shopping firms are finding it difficult to get H1b . They are the no 1 abusers .
Demand vs supply. Doesn't really matter if the supply is h1b or green card.

H1B is bad for US citizens. They should give permanent residence permanently to all foreign tech workers so they can compete fairly. Right now they fear losing their jobs which depresses wages for the rest of us. If they had the freedom to change companies on a dime without risking their visa, it would be better for all.
Totally agree . It depresses the wages .
I made this argument so many times... But everything I hear "dey tking ar jops!" and suggestion to make them even more attached to their prospective slave owners
