looking to switch to Tech. from manufacturing industry (finance function).Any opinions on difference between work culture and opportunities?
With a mechanical engineering background, have you tried Tesla ? WLB might suck there but it’s still more tech than traditional manufacturing, and your background will give you an advantage versus moving to a fully tech role where the skill gap for you might be higher. I made a ton of assumptions about your location and interests, so feel free to discard this perspective
Yes, try looking into tech companies with a focus/reliance on FinTech. Some examples would be Gusto, Stripe, Coinbase, Plaid, Square.

specifically from what company to what target companies?
From Crane to “a” tech company. Have not started applying yet. So am more inclined to knowing if tech companies are even open to hire people who come from a non related industry
probably can target Ops finance in hardware companies
