What if we built an app that inflation shamed (hot or not for inflation) when you used your camera and pointed at a store or restaurant? I feel like restaurants in particular are using the inflation narrative to reset prices higher every so often knowing the demand won't weaken. Especially in affluent areas like Seattle, it seems prices can rise unabated and they know that the tech workers will keep paying. Imagine two restaurants side-by-side and a family puts up the camera on either and sees, "Restaurant A hasn't changed their price for Sushi in 8 months versus Restaurant B has changed price for their Fish tacos 4 weeks ago and did so 5 months ago as well." I feel like price discovery in restaurants in not functioning. TC: 285K
Then stop paying you idiot.
Good and unique idea as far as I can tell. Go for it
Should we skill sham SDEs? 400K TC?
That’s exactly what happens in interviews.
So as a restaurant’s costs and customers willingness to pay go up they should keep prices the same? What exactly are you “shaming” them for? Even if there were something to shame them over this sounds like the most unnecessary app ever.
It's called price Elasticity of Demand
If you don't like the price don't buy it.
Wouldn’t you be the moron for giving them your business?
I think there is no point in such an app. At the end of the day a bussiness is a for profit organization, customers pay up to a point then the bussiness adjusts or collapses
