I have 12 years experience in traditional datawarehousing field involving ETL tools like Informatica and little bit of Informatica Big Data Edition. I often hear that PySpark/Python/Databricks/AWS etc are in trend, many FAANG companies hire Data Engineers..not sure is it easy to switch to these PySpark/Databricks profiles or very tough? Any FAANG companies accept ppl from Informatica ETL background? How much salary hike I can expect?
I’m on same boat and finding it tough
PayPal is one company i could think of using informatica. FAANGs doesn't use informatica. But you can take up courses online and try.
A very good article on how to transition from ETL developer to Data Engineer at FAANG https://www.linkedin.com/posts/abhishek-kumar-006630105_graduating-from-etl-developer-to-data-engineer-activity-6914049590358941696-ezwq?utm_source=linkedin_share&utm_medium=android_app https://link.medium.com/7mW26e5QKob
