Apps/UI is old school. Infra is where money is :)
You're an just sysadmins they break shit all the time.
IME DevOps at most companies means build automation, which sucks. I still have PTSD from writing build scripts to create AMIs and maintaining Jenkins. At least in infra you get to work with more exciting tech.
I wish I knew this before working in a devops role, I need to get out asap...
For small companies infra=ops+devops. For companies like Google + FB+ Amazon + Linkedin infra is building up those storage solutions or optimizing those kafka for a particular use case.
