Google is too big to grow.. Layoffs is only way to reduce operating cost and make investors happy.
They could try stop killing good product line before they have chance to grow.
Disruptors gets disrupted at some point. Clearly Day 2 thinking.
Companies are dumb. Save employees by shutting down office buildings. They can save rent money.
Sell to who? No one wants to expand their real estate footprint now.
P.S: Not talking just about Google
With so many Googlers working only 4-hours, I don’t know what they’re innovating on. Perhaps they just needed a bit of Amazon. There’s some truth that frugality breeds innovation like startups do.
Tech is mostly innovation, no invention. An industry for producing digital pet rocks.
They shouldn’t hire so many people in the first place
More layoff = less spending -> figure out more ways to earn money in free time -> new startup Idea form -> new jobs. not saying you are wrong, but just think differently. necessasity is mother of inovation
